Power generation side energy storage systems are mainly installed in the following five types of power plants, including traditional fossil energy, renewable energy and multi-energy complementary scenarios.
1. Thermal power plant
• Typical uses: thermal storage combined frequency regulation (AGC), deep peak shaving, reducing coal consumption and emissions.
2. Centralized photovoltaic power station
• Typical uses: Smoothing the midday output peak, reducing light waste, and evening peak discharge.
3. Onshore/offshore wind farms
• Typical uses: Suppressing the climbing rate, compensating for sudden drops in wind speed, and improving the controllability of the delivery curve.
4. Hydropower station (including pumped storage reversible unit)
• Typical uses: Bundling with wind and solar energy to form "water, wind, solar and energy storage integration", using the reservoir's adjustment capabilities to achieve long-term energy time shifting.
5. Multi-energy complementary/comprehensive energy base
• Typical scenarios:
‑ “Integration of wind, solar, thermal power and storage”: Add energy storage to the booster station side of existing thermal power plants to reduce the minimum technical output of the unit.
