Industrial and commercial energy storage systems are usually installed in factories, parks, shopping malls, office buildings, data centers and other places.
1. Six basic functions
1. Peak and valley arbitrage
Charge at low prices during off-peak periods and discharge at high prices during peak periods, directly earning the electricity price difference;
2. Demand (capacity) management
The power of the transformer is monitored in real time. When the load is about to exceed the upper limit of contract demand, the energy storage is instantly discharged to "cut the top", avoiding high basic electricity charges based on maximum demand, and saving 10%–30% of annual electricity bills for a single project.
3. Power distribution capacity increase
When short-term load > transformer capacity, energy storage supplements the gap, which can postpone or replace capacity expansion investment and reduce one-time CAPEX by 30%–50%.
4. Backup power supply
Millisecond-level switching enables uninterrupted power supply for critical loads such as fire protection, elevators, and production lines during power cuts, power outages, and trips. It is more economical and environmentally friendly than diesel generators.
5. Maximize self-consumption of photovoltaic
It forms a "light storage and charging" microgrid with rooftop photovoltaics to store excess photovoltaic power at noon for use in the afternoon/evening peak, increasing the green power consumption rate by 20%–40% and reducing the loss of excess power on the grid.
6. Demand side response and power trading
Accept the instructions of the power grid/aggregator, discharge or reduce load during peak hours, and obtain dual benefits of subsidies and electricity;
